(It should say вЂњPattern 1,вЂќ or вЂњPattern 2,вЂќ or whatever Pattern youвЂ™re using.) Your paint brush tool should be selected. To open the Playlist, left-click the first option to the right of the Pattern display. Now your drumbeat is DONE!!! LetвЂ™s add it to the Playlist. ItвЂ™s found in вЂњ Packs > Drums > Snares > FPC Snare 1.вЂќ Drag it to the Channel Rack and insert the two snares below. IвЂ™ll have you use a third snare to fill in the lack of вЂњloudnessвЂќ those two snares have. Once again, itвЂ™s shown way at the bottom. This song is heavy on its вЂњride cymbals.вЂќ IвЂ™m sure thereвЂ™s a sample in the background being looped, but when you compose these вЂњride cymbals,вЂќ youвЂ™ll be sure to recreate the вЂњfilling effectвЂќ of that вЂњsample.вЂќДЇind this вЂњrideвЂќ in вЂњ Packs > Legacy > Drums > FPC > Cymbals > FPC_Ride_GLite_004.вЂќ Drag it to the Channel Rack and insert what you see below. The kick drum can be found in вЂњ Packs > Legacy > Drums > HipHop > HIP_Kick_9.вЂќ Drag it to the Channel Rack and insert what you see (on вЂњHIP_Kick_9,вЂќ below the other three drums). Once youвЂ™re in this вЂњPiano Roll,вЂќ move the placement of the second and fourth repetitions of вЂњHIP_Snare_9вЂќ to where you see circled below.

Click the вЂњtiny triangleвЂќ on the upper-left corner of that window and select вЂњPiano Roll.вЂќ Now insert what you see below for вЂњHIP_Snare_9,вЂќ pictured at the bottom.Д«efore doing anything else, we need to make some adjustments to вЂњHIP_Snare_9.вЂќ Left-click on its вЂњrectangleвЂќ in the Channel Rack. Once itвЂ™s there, insert thisвЂ¦ at the bottom, below вЂњHIP_Hat_5.вЂќДЇor вЂњSnare 2,вЂќ which is softer than вЂњSnare 1,вЂќ go to the вЂњleft windowвЂќ once again to find вЂњ Packs > Legacy > Drums > HipHop > HIP_Snare_9.вЂќ Drag it to the Channel Rack. Now insert this to the Channel Rack for вЂњHIP_Hat_5.вЂќДЇor вЂњSnare 1,вЂќ go to the вЂњleft windowвЂќ and find вЂњ Packs > Legacy > Drums > HipHop > HIP_Snare_4.вЂќ Drag that to the Channel Rack. Once you find that вЂњHIP_Hat_5,вЂќ left-click and drag it to the Channel Rack. The hi-hat of your drumbeat can be found in вЂњ Packs > Legacy > Drums > HipHop > HIP_Hat_5.вЂќ Look for it on the вЂњleft windowвЂќ of your FL Studio 12 screen. Left-click and drag it down to 99 beats per minute.

On top of your FL Studio 12 screen, your default tempo will most likely read 130. This should turn it dark gray and mute its effect. In its вЂњSlotвЂќ menu, on the right of the Mixing Board, вЂњFruity LimiterвЂќ is there. For now, just focus on the drumbeat.Д«efore composing anything with FL Studio 12, I recommend silencing Fruity Limiter, the default effect on the Master Channel in your Mixing Board. There will be a melody tutorial following this one.
